Mission Statement

(Approved by the School Board - School District of Maple: June 12, 1995)


The mission of the Maple Public Schools is to empower students to be:

  • productive members of a world community
  • informed participants in a democratic government
  • life-long learners
  • socially responsible citizens

In order to accomplish this mission we believe that students...

  • need to develop a broad knowledge base
  • must master the communication skills of speaking, writing, listening, and reading
  • must develop the thinking processes of analysis, creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making
  • must learn to work cooperatively with others
  • must be able to apply knowledge and processes
  • must respect the dignity of worth of others
  • must have the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities
  • must be proficient in the use of technology
  • must be exposed to career education and given the opportunity to participate in school to work activities
  • need to learn core values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, courage, punctuality, and self- discipline

AND the school district staff, family and community must work together to provide: 

  • a safe environment conducive to learning
  • a challenging and relevant curriculum
  • co-curricular activities
  • the expertise to meet the needs of students
